Modern Nursery - Help! (Please).

Hi ladies -- hoping for your expert opinions.

This is the crib I'm leaning towards:

Very modern, simple look -- that's what I'm going for. Now my question is, would it look odd to have the crib as the only dark wood piece, and furnish the rest of the room (dresser/changer, bookshelf) in white? Ikea has some pretty good modern looking dressers and bookshelves (like this and this), but their dark finish (which they call "black-brown") is REALLY dark, and I'm not sure if they'd look "off" with the crib, which is actually a bit lighter than it looks in the picture.

So what do you think -- all pieces in dark finish, or the crib in espresso and the other furniture in white (the ones linked above come in white as well). OR I could get the Sorelle crib in white and do everything in white -- but that might be a little blindng.

Any and all input would be SO appreciated -- this has become a bit of a headache.

Lots of modern rooms have this look!  Here is an example of a room with both brown and white furniture.

i think the dark crib with the white dressers would be great...there are the cribs like the one you pictured that are dark wood and white, so i think it would be a nice contrast. ?GL

I actually think it will look BETTER with the combo, than with all brown.  Do you have bedding picked out yet, just curious.

I love mis-matching furniture, so I think it will look great.

We have a dresser from Ikea in "black brown" and it is VERY dark, just like you said.

I love your crib, it actually reminds me quite a bit of the one we bought.  We bought the lollipop crib from A.P. industries; it's $400 at albee baby, but you can choose from 20 some finishes.  Thought this might help.

Oops, posted that too soon. Nope, I don't have my bedding picked out yet -- yet ANOTHER decision!!

i actually have that crib - in the two toned option. it's white and espresso - so pretty! my dresser and bookshelf are also white and espresso. hope that helps!

I'd go all dark for sure. It's ok if the stains are not identical. Also, Target has some awesome wall shelves you may like.

I agree with the PPs - we actually have a dark crib and everything else is white. We had all the white furniture before and I wanted a matching crib but all the white ones I found were over budget. As it turns out, I prefer the darker crib anyway.
