How are Walmart cakes?

Give me an honest answer....I need just a very small one for DH and I tomorrow.  The really awesome bakery I want to go to isn't answering the phone.

I'm pretty picky about my cakes... and I'm not a huge fan of WalMarts. They taste cheap to me.

I've never had a cake from Walmart, but Costco cakes are amazing!

SBLAY will tell you to avoid the chocolate truffle cake. 

I haven't had any from there, but a basic cake should be hard to mess up, right?

DH and I bought a chocolate buttercream frosted chocolate cake from the discount rack (so it wasn't even the freshest it could be) at Walmart and it was to die for! Thinking about it makes me want to eat cake now!

I don't think they're bad.  Although there is an awesome bakery that we always go to instead.

Here is my OP about the evil of the truffle cake:

After work, I went home..watched a little Paula Deen and ate some chocolate cake from Wal-Mart. About an hour later, I started getting really bad heartburn, so I went upstairs to lay down. Big mistake.

So I decided to take a bath and see if that helped. Bath fail. Everything came back up, idk what the hell happened. And to make matters worse, I had to clean it up (I missed the sink and the toilet). To make matters worse, I was then plagued by diarrhea.

On the brightside, afterwards I felt like a new girl.

And the cake went in the trash can.

The icing is made with shortening usually instead of butter and leaves a film on your tongue. I would go to the bakery!?

Walmart cakes = NASTY! They are pre-made frozen cakes!

Ditto Costco.  Just get a set of cupcakes and freeze the rest you don't eat.
