Pirate's Booty a choking hazard?

I gave DS some small pieces of Pirate's Booty the other day because of how they practically melt in your mouth, but now am wondering if they're a choking hazard, since popcorn is and it's about the same size.  I know Gerber makes those cheese doodle type things, so that also makes me think that maybe Pirate's Booty is safe.  What do you think?

  • DD hasn't had a problem with them, but I wouldn't let her eat them without being RIGHT there.

  • I always thought popcorn was a choking hazard due to the corn shells in the middle of the popcorn puff...you know, the stuff that always gets caught in your teeth?

  • i was afraid of the booty at first too, but DS has always done fine with it... but we did change over to the smart puffs instead. they melt so much easier, and since they are longer, its easier for ds to get a good grasp on them.
  • My DD has been eating Pirate's Booty since she got her first teeth. We've never had a problem with it, at all.

    Then again, my DD also LOVES popcorn (I break the soft pieces off and leave the kernels in a bowl), so...
