Diaper Bags?

Ruby is 9 months old, and I'm still using the freebie diaper bag I got from the hospital! haha. I keep shopping around but never find anything I want to commit to. I couldn't bring myself to invest a lot of money into a designer bag, although when I'm not looking at prices, those are always the ones that I like...

So, tell me what diaper bag/bags you have and if you'd recommend it.

Thanks!

Re: Diaper Bags?

  • OMG, Kelly, I could write a love letter about mine! I have the JJ Cole Diaper Bag System and its awesome! https://www.amazon.com/JJ-Cole-System-Bag-Graphite/dp/B000LEG2WA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=baby-products&qid=1240769698&sr=8-2 (it comes in several colors, I have the gray/apple one). I love that is goes across the shoulder (more comfortable), it has lots of room, lots of outside pockets for convenience (cell, bottle close at hand), it comes with a pacifier pod and a changing pad that you can carry seperately. I LOVE IT! Its also moderately priced ($70). And, it easily fits over the handles of my big stroller and also comes with loops ot put over tha handles of an umbrella stroller. I hang it over my stroller during baby bootcamp (jogging, etc) and it never gets in the way or falls.  Yes
  • I have a Petunia Picklebottom Boxy Backpack and I LOOOOVE it! I got it for half price during one of their sample sales last year, and I'm so glad I went for it!

I'm a total purse girl, so I knew I had to have a great diaper bag, so getting a good deal on the PPB was perfect for me! I love how wide it opens at the top, the removeable changing pad AND it's the cutest thing ever!

I'm hoping to get one of the PPB Touring Totes when Max is older and doesn't need as much stuff (read: reflux doesn't make us need several outfits every time we leave the house! LOL)

  • I have a PPB backpack too and love it. I got my first one at TJMaxx because it was $60. It is like a tweed fabric. Now that summer is here I wanted something in a different material. I ended up getting the same bag at Nordstoms yesterday in a brocade print. I am so excited about my new bag: https://www.petuniapicklebottom.com/collections/original/boxybackpacks/chambordroll/

I also have a Vera bradley bag(not the baby bag, it's another style) I got it as a gift. I do like the bag, but I tend to overpack supplies and it just wasn't cuttin it. Maybe when DS is older and I dont need to bring bottles around with me it will work better.

I am so excited about my new PPB bag. It is the first diaper bag that I actually picked out.

  • I have a petunia picklebottom also.  I have the toddler tote and I LOVE it.  They usually have some on ebay for reasonable prices and I recently got one at Marshalls for $10!!!

  • I have a Skip Hop bag that I bought at Target. I love it because it clips onto my stroller very easily. Since it's nearly impossible for us to leave the house w/out a stroller, this sold me on the bag.

When my guys get bigger and they won't put up with the stroller, I'm guessing I'll need a backpack style bag. I need to keep my eyes out for a PP boxy backpack!

  • I got a carters one before I had Ryan.  I liked the colors (blue and brown matching everything we had) but never have found the bag very organized and useful.  I think it feels bulky and doesn't fit much.  We cloth diaper so we need a big bag!  I got the vera bradley one and DH got a pottery barn kids back pack after Ryan was born and we both love our respective bags.  I like how big the vera bradley is.  It can easily hold 4 cloth diapers and everything else he needs for the day out.  The pottery barn back pack will only hold 1 cloth diaper so I only like it for shorter trips or we take disposables but it has nice pockets, a great changing pad and my DH loves that it isn't girly at all.

    GL picking!

  • I have a Storksak that I got brand new off Ebay for $80.  It's normally at least $160
  • WEll I dont actually have mine yet, My shower is in 2 weeks. I registered for the columbia messenger.

Actually I registered for the jj cole messenger that a pp mentioned because when I seen it in the store I LOVED it, but then I went online and every single one of those bads was rated 3 of 5 stars, and a ton of reviews mentioned the zipper seam ripping or fraying..so just be careful

  • I use a diaper bag from Informed Mom. A lady in the St. Louis area had a preemie and was unhappy with having to carry all the monitors separately so she created this awesome bag. The bottom part can be removed and doubles as a small cooler.  It even has cup holders, AWESOME!!
