initial TTC date

Our plan was to wait until August to start trying.  I am off BC and TTA.   I am becoming impatient and thinking "if it happens, I will be ok". I have no willpower!

Did anyone have a set TTC date but couldn't wait so they made it earlier?

Yes.  Our initial date was 3/1/09 but as soon as I stopped BCP in early January we threw caution to the wind.  We were ready.

we never had a set date but I always thought we'd wait longer. Your husband is on the same page as you, right? just making sure

this makes me laugh because Dh and I decided on starting this summer, the moved it to this past january, then moved it back to this summer, then moved it to january 2010, then moved it back to this january, then health problems arose and finally decided to stop using protection in march and he agreed to let me chart.

I got pregnant our first cycle trying. I've been off BCP since August 07.

DH and I initially said that we were going to wait 5 years before trying.  Yeah, we didn't even make it a year before the baby bug caught us and we were ready to try!

Is a couple of months really going to make a huge difference? If you are ready, and your DH is ready, personally I think its kind of silly to TTA. BUT, you need to make sure your DH is on board too.  And remember, there's no guarantee that you will become pregnant in the first couple of cycles, it could take up to a year or more.  Good luck!

Yep!  We initially said 12/2009, which would be our 3rd anniversary.  Then we changed our minds to September 2009, and then  we decided January 2009.  On cycle 4 of trying now, much ahead of "schedule"..

Yes, our initial date was set to be Aug of 08 but we started in March of 08 instead.

I was ready right away after getting married in June 2007, but DH is younger than me so he wanted to wait a little while, so the discussion was tabled until Spring 08, I wanted to start TTC then, but he wasn't ready yet.  Finally in Fall 08, he was ready so I stopped BCP and we started TTC... there was no TTA phase... although I didn't discover charting and learn about my cycles until then, so I wish I would have stopped BCP a few months sooner to get the hang of it before wanting a baby like now.

I don't know about everyone else but for us a couple of months can make a huge difference.

Our inital date was going to be Dec 2009.  We were going to wait until DH had passed the bar exam and had a job as an attorney.  We couldn't wait that long!

DH and I are on the same page.  the only reason we wanted to wait until Aug was because IF we got pregnant right away, the timing would be perfect (school teacher- summer baby).  We know it probably wont happen that way so we are throwing caution to the wind.

It is almost impossible to plan these things... I have only seen a handful of people get pregnant right away.  It usually takes at least a few months.  Good luck to you!

Yes, we're going through this right now.

We planned on starting TTC my next cycle (DH will be graduating with his masters degree in a few weeks) but we've kinda stopped TTA.  We aren't trying to time sex for O, but just as you said, "if it happens, I will be ok."

My husband and I sat down and made the original plan was to start TTC in Jan. 2011. All was good till a15 days after the wedding BC was making me bleed after we.. um Yeah. So I stopped using it  for a month and it mad a major difference so The DH was like your off now.. Lets try. So here were now 5 cycles in and can't wait for a BFP.

We were the opposite. I was ready to TTC right away when we got married (7/07) and he was not. We set the date of 4/08. He was still not ready. Finally in 12/08 DH gave the green light! Here we are over 1 year after our initial start date!

We actually did the opposite. When we got married in July 07, we thought we would start ttc right away (August/Sept of 07).  However, we decided to wait until June of 08, but we didn't use birth control from January 08 ...guess it didn't really matter since we still aren't pregnant.

We knew we wanted to travel, save money and buy a house. We've "checked those off", have been married three years and feel ready. We never set a firm date--we just knew we wanted to be in a certain place before kids.

we never had a set date but I always thought we'd wait longer.

So did we, but all of a sudden we realized and he vocalized to me that he wanted to try earlier and i was thinking the same thing

Yep.  We planned on starting TTC in June (went off BCP in January, started charting and TTA with condoms) and then, in March decided to go for it.  So now, we're on cycle 2 TTC.  In the end, what's a couple of months? 

We figured if we were going to be ready in June we were ready now.  Mainly it had to do with my wanting to schedule TTC around work and now I am over it.  We'll keep TTC until we get a BFP and work will have to cope.

I did.... I was going off BCPs in May.  But, I got ecoli and had to go on meds.  So, I talked my DH into stopping sooner!

Initially, we were going to start trying on our third anniversary, which is in June.  I've been off BCP since September 2008 because of some health issues, so last month we decided just to go for it.

I am the opposite! I was all ready to start NOW, but I sat down and looked over our finances with DH, and it would be much wiser for us to wait until July/August. It doesn't seem like it would make much of a difference, but for us, it really does. Not that it's easy, but it will be worth the wait.
