Please recommend your beach gear (tents, wagon) - what do i need?

It's suddenly hot here and i realized that we are not ready to take the girls to the beach, and I have no clue what we'd need. 

PP asked about strollers, but i would love your list of essential items that go in your trunk.  i'm guessig it would include: tent or sunshade, wagon or something to pull them in since it seems a stroller wont' work in sand (DDs are roughly 1 year old this summer, so far not walking), . . . not sure what else or what brands to get.

I'd get a wagon (they are great for everything), a tent/sunshade, one of those blankets with a backing so that the sand won't creep through, and sand toys. For the babies, I'd get plenty of sun gear (sunscreen, hats, glasses, sun protection clothing). They burn so easily when they are young!

One Step Ahead and Coolibar have some great sun protection clothing. Oh, and those little shoes so that their feet won't get burned by the sand are nice. OSA has little socks - I haven't tried them, but they might work for crawlers/beginning walkers pretty well.
