Hi all. This is a sort' of a double post. First of all, I used to be on the knot, but I'm new the to the bump. Soo...hi! The hubby and I have been married for 1.5 years, and have been trying to conceive for 8 months, without success.
I'm hoping that someone here can either help me, or guide me to the right board, because I'm a tad confused.
My cycle is about 5 days late (which is really abnormal for me), from my average cycle length (25 days), and 2 days later than the longest cycle I've ever had (28 days), either way you look at it I'm late. In the last few days I've noticed an increased appetite and extreme tiredness. In the last 3 days I also have taken 3 HPT's, with a (-). What gives? Can anyone shed light on what this could mean? (I've read that late cycles, can come from stress, or poor diet, but I'm not stressed at all and have been eating quite well). I apologize in advance if this is a "newbie" question, but just want to be sure.
Re: confused/frustrated newbie
What Christy said.... That's why a lot of the ladies here chart their BBT on Fertilityfriend.com, so we have an idea of when we ovulate so we can better tell if we're really late or if our bodies are just playing tricks on us.
If I were you, I'd wait another week and then take another HPT. If you still get a negative, then I'd give your MD a call and ask him/her/the nurse. I'd also do some research about cycles (if you haven't already), a lot of ladies here recommend Taking Charge of Your Fertility. You can find much of the same info in different spots on the internet.
Good Luck!
Hello and welcome...you've come to the right place.
One question...are you charting? If not, you should. That way you'll know if/when you ovulate and also how long your luteal phasie is. Off the bat, 25 days seems really short to me and you might have too short of a luteral phase to support a pregnancy. Then again you may just ovulate really early. Charting will help you to know for sure.
In the meantime, I would assume that you've either not ovulated this cycle or ovulated late. Wait another week and if no AF try another HPT. GL!
