Need help pretty please

Ok, so we are both so tired of trying to find names.  We had already decided on names since we started dating.  Now that we are actually pregnant...we're not so sure.  If you ladies would be kind enough to give me your opinions, it would be greatly appreciated! 

 

Girl:  Raylan Dawn (Dawn after me), Raylan Kaye (Kaye after MIL)

Girl: Laney

Boy: Carter Ray (Carter after DH and FIL and Ray after my dad)

Boy: Cael

 BTW: Our last name is Cummings

Carter Ray is nice. I've never liked the name Cael because it reminds me of the vegetable.

For girls, Laney is ok. I'm afraid Raylan is NMS, but Dawn is an ok mn.

I love your boys names. Carter is great but I prefer Cael spelt with a "K," and spelt like "Kale."  To me, it just look better. Cael is my favorite. Raylan is not my style. It sort of reminds me of rayon, a garment material. I do like Laney though but I don't think it will age well. Good luck!

Raylan is...strange, and reminds me of Rayon, the fabric. Laney seems like a nickname. Like for Elaine or something.

I like Carter.

Cael is awful. There is a cheap vegetable (which is disgusting) called kale. And that's all I think of.

There are all nms. They sound very Southern to me, but not in a good way. As in... I can only imagine them said with a very thick accent. Sorry.

I truly don't mean to be rude, but they are all really bad. Raylan sounds and looks made up. Carter is soo trendy right now. Cael is a veggie. Laney sounds like a nn. I can't imagine an adult named Laney.

Are you trying to make Raylan after your father, Ray? Just curious if that's the inspiration. Then maybe it is decent, but not near as cute and girly as Laney. I like the Elena suggestion. Boy names are good.

I gotta tell you....I'm not thrilled with any of them....sorry! Raylan sounds like a made up name or some 60's hippy thing; Laney is okay,but kind of 80's; Carter is probably the best of them all and Cael sounds like a vegetable to me..Not only that...do you want your kid to have to spell their name to everyone they meet? I think you need to rethink it and also keep in mind that this little person will have this for the rest of their life...no pressure or anything! ha ha. Good luck with it. We're struggling to find names at the moment too....

I like the idea of using Dawn or Kaye as the middle, because they are family names.

Raylan: ?Sounds made-up. ?Not a fan of this or Raylynn or anything similar. I just don't like the way it sounds - sorry. ?Spelling is slightly confusing too - ray-LIN or ray-LAN or RAY-lun?

Laney: Only if it's spelled Lainey and it's short for something else (Elaine, Elena, etc).?

Carter: I like it. ?Depends if you want a Carter Cummings III I suppose. ?If yes, fine, if no, you could make it a middle if there is pressure to continue the tradition.?

Cael: ?NMS. ?Reminds me of kale and vaguely of Superman's name, Kal-El.?

Raylan Dawn -raylan looks made up and dawn is nms

Raylan Kaye -really dislike kaye (but i don't like any "filler" middle names)

Laney -ok but as a nn not a full name

Carter Ray -carter is ok (although popular) but not ray, the two Rs run together to sound like carteray

Cael -looks like it's misspelled
