What are the must have toys for your 1 year old?

We have tons of books and building blocks and this pink elephant rocker.  I'm going to go out and shop for some new items.  She isn't too interested in the puzzles she has.

My freinds daughter likes Dusty the tallking vacuum and my niece loved her tea party set.

at that age my boys loved their leapfrog table.  It was recommended to me on the multiples board by SEVERAL mommies and I agree.  We actually found it for less than 1/2 price at a "Once Upon a Child".

I also second the walking toys.  This really helped my late walking preemies.  I actually felt guilty that I hadn't let them use these earlier.

The also LOVED their "laugh and learn" home by Fisher Price.  This is "pricey" no pun intended   We actually got it from friends whose children outgrew it.  I would check out garage sales, craigslist, etc.  Our boys STILL play with it and have since they were infants.

Fisher price Zebra that you can ride on was a hit (again from OUAC, mentioned above).  I think they were older when we got this one though and it just depends on whether or not they are capable of getting on and off of it. 

If I could just recommend one it would be the house.

My son LOVES the FP cruise & crawl musical jungle.  He also likes the sit to stand giraffe, which is similar. 

This time of year, I would look for some outside toys though.
