I hear you!! I remember standing at the front door just WAITING for my DH to come home so I could hand DS over and go upstairs and take a shower for 5 minutes of peace (and of course even then I could hear him crying!!).
I'm not sure if your DD is colicky or just fussy... but either sucks, really DS was super colicky... cried for HOURS on end and then around 5-1/2 months it stopped!! I didn't believe people when they told me it woudl just stop like someone flipped a switch, but one night we were actually making dinner and he wasn't screaming adn we weren't quite sure what to do with ourselves... and didn't even discuss it b/c we were afraid to jinx it. BUT... that was it... the screaming was over just like that! And then we had to figure out what the heck to do with a baby that DIDN'T scream all the time! LOL... fun stuff
DS was still a high-maintence baby (and can still be that way as a toddler... but not nearly as bad now!), but really around 5-1/2 months it just started to get better.
You said you switched her to formula... maybe try a few to see if another works better? I kept trying new stuff b/c I thought it HAD to be something that I was eating (had already eliminated dairy, acidic foods etc) and every time he would get worse so I just went back to BM. Drove myself insave. Finally he wound up on Gentlease which worked really well for us (but this was closer to 11 months or so that we actually switched him).
Ooohhh... one thing that I did find for getting him to sleep was that he needed to be in pitch black with white noise. I discovered this accidentally one night b/c we also used teh fan in the bathroom as white noise now and then. I went in and didn't turn on the light and he fell asleep pretty quickly. I think during the day the light etc just overstimulated him and he needed that darkness and white noise to turn everything off and fall asleep. Not sure how easy THAT would be to try wiht a toddler?
And, like you, I wore him a LOT. But once we could put him in the Jumperoo (that was his fav) etc, he started to be a little easier during the day as well. We put 2 huge pillows under his feet so they touched (and blankets like I said) and he was pretty content for a little bit. Enought that i could collect my thoughts
