Trying to Get Pregnant

Anyone using Instead Softcup or other cervical cap?

So I have been Googling all day and keep coming across this notion that you can insert an Instead Softcup after sex to hold the sperm up close to the cervix.  They say to insert it immediately after sex and leave it in 6-8 hours.  Sounds interesting.

I have used Instead for AF but this other application sounds promising.  Just wondering if anyone else has tried it.  Seems like a low-cost method to assist with TTC.

The premise is similar to the cap in this kit:

  • As far as I understand sperm go up, the rest that comes down doesn't need to stay in.  I think someone likened it to the school bus that drops the kids off at school.  The school bus being what causes the wet spot :)

Hmm... I'm an Instead user, but I guess I never thought to do that.

Here's my question--if sperm are so sensitive (you know, that spit can kill 'em), wouldn't a plastic device kill 'em?

According to all of the websites I've seen detailing this, they said that Instead cups are sperm-friendly.  They are not plastic.  They are made of medical grade silicone.  Anyway, according to the sites I've read it has worked for many a couple.  I think I might pick up a box and give it a go...cannot hurt, right?
