I know I have to confess I am sitting around bumping tonight (even though it is still gorgeous out here)...but I am at work and we only have 2 patients on my floor and I am super bored! How is everyone tonight? Haven't been on here all day today cause I had to sleep to stay up all night, any interesting news from any testers tonight?
Re: Anyone still around?
Well I would tell you but I am not sure where Lawrencburg is!! But Dayton is just on the southeast side of Lafayette, right off I-65. So I take it you are from Indiana as well?
Hey girl! I am doing good, so far I have had BFN on the test I took early, but this is my first cycle off BCP so I figured it might take a while. How have you been, any exciting/interesting news to share?
GL to you!!!!
You have a great attitude.
Not too much to share....except a have a "mini-bump" now! Baby O popped out a little this week. My DH loves it. Ha.
Thanks! I try to stay positive cause I know my body needs to adjust after no AF for almost 4 years (Depo shot, then AF did not return when I started oral BCP, had to quit completely before she visited). It is hard for DH cause he really wants to get pregnant like 2 months ago, but I just have to keep telling him that it will be ok, I mean practice makes perfect!!
How exciting about the baby bump!! Can't wait to see a pic!
I forget, are you a nurse too?
Yes, it can take awhile to get back to "normal." I was very fortunate to have cycles of 26-33 days off BCP, & also to get KU in 4 cycles!
My DH wanted a baby BEFORE we got married last May. Our timing is actually perfect because he graduates May 1 & we should know exactly what his hours/schedule will be before I come back to work from maternity leave (he's a rad tech). I am a NICU nurse.
I want to add a pic to my siggy but I have so much "junk" there I'm afraid it will be too much!
When did you get married? Is that a honeymoon pic in your siggy? It's super cute - where was it taken?
Well that gives me hope then that I will regulate soon!!
We got married while I was still in nursing school- Dec. 30, 2006. Yeah that is a honeymoon pic! It was on our last port of call on our cruise. It was in Costa Maya, Mexico. Thanks- I love this pic. Another girl wrote a post to me about it being cute and funny!! she thought "Boobs, and a foot!"
That is awesome that your DH is almost done with school. I know I really want to get KU, but then I am going to go back and get my PNP in a couple of years. How do you like the NICU? I have to crosstrain here soon at our NICU here.
Yes, I hope everything does regulate for you soon. I've heard your first cycle of BC is the most fertile. GL with that!
I have my Pediatric CNS degree....I initially wanted to teach undergrad peds but my love is NICU & my night shift schedule will work so much better with a baby. I adore the NICU...I've never worked anywhere else as a nurse. It will break your heart sometimes, but there are so many more good outcomes than bad. I hope you like it too!
I floated to the NICU once last year and had 4 feeder/growers, but now they want to reorient us for some reason. I love working in Peds. I want my PNP so I can teach and work in an office if I really want to. I know how the breaking heart can be, I work on a rehab floor and you would not imagine what we see sometimes.
Well I took OPKs from like day 12 on and never got a positive, so I figure I just missed it or never O'd this cycle. I am going to be more diligent on my temps and start OPKs earlier cause a nurse I work with said one time she O'd really early after AF. So I don't know, any other suggestions about GP woudl be great!
Oh man...sorry about the opk's.
Hopefully with the addition of charting, you'll get a more clear picture about your cycle. I got + opk's on cd 11-13ish (if I'm remembering right
), so it is quite possible to get a + earlier, especially if you aren't familiar with your post-BC cycles yet.
I think I've told you before, but charting with working nights can be difficult. I had a whole lot of open circle temps, but did have a clear O shift. GL to you my dear!
Thanks hun! I think you did help me before with the night shift thing. Yeah I noticed a lot of open circles too cause some days I had to be up in the AM instead of my normal PM wake time.
Keep me posted on the baby bump, I want to see pics!!
I'm by no means a charting expert but I'll help where I can!
I'll post a picture on here for you soon...watch for it! I think the GP mamas post can be overwhelming (but fun, don't get me wrong!), but I usually miss it. You understand the whole night shift business!
Sorry, I went to bed.
I am from Cincinnati, which is really close to Lawerenceburg Indiana. A lot of my inlaws live in Lawerenceburg.
