I ran over DD's tricycle yesterday :-(

I had my car 1/2 backed out of the garage so that I could vacuum it out.  DD had all of her riding toys out and didn't have her trike pushed over far enough.  I could not see it when I pulled in the last 4 feet that I needed to and just crushed the back of the trike.  So sad....that was her 2nd birthday present and she loved riding it.  I was so made at myself.  We are going to pick up her new bike after naptime.  I figured that since she is almost 4, we would just get a bike with training wheels.  We bought a new helmet when we picked out the bike (the bike store built it for us), and she kept the helmet on for 3 hours yesterday afternoon.  She has been talking about the bike all day.  I'm glad she's excited, but I'm still a little nostalgic about the loss of the trike!

  • Both our cars have cameras + sensors in the back for this very reason. Thank goodness it was only a trike.

Wait.. you were pulling in and didn't see it? Or backing up?

  • Sad  Sorry.

  • I have a backup camera on my car too.  It was just close enough to the passenger side front tire that I couldn't see it.  It was kind of to the side of my car.
  • Oh my :(  Do you have sensors? I guess it was probably just far enough that they didn't pick it up either. You know, I've often wondered how good these things are in actual situations. I'm going to pay even closer attention now. DD is too young to move things around but DH.. well, that's a different story.
