Our neighbor is like a grandpa to us and he just told me this morning that his wife who has alzheimers is going off her meds today and she will either starve or stroke out. She will pass away soon. She can't walk, talk, etc. at this point. It was so sad to hear and all I could do was hug him and tell him that we will be there for him whatever he needs.

Re: NGPR: So sad...
Ugh, that is so sad. I'm sorry!
(PS- Jen--HI! How are you?)
This is how my grandfather passed. It's heartbreaking for those who love the person but it is actually a very peaceful and dignified way to go. After suffering for years the indignities of alz. this was the most beautiful way to go we could imagine.
I'm so sorry for your pain.
It was exactly the same with my grandmother.
It is a terrible situation. I wish you peace.
