Can taking too much antibiotic make you sleepy?  DD was sleeping soo much earlier this week that I almost took her in for a blood test.  She was not herself at all, very sluggish and quiet.  I checked with the pharmacy, and it turned out that she was getting 50-75% more than she should have for her weight of Augmentin and then Omnicef.  I stopped the medication on Tuesday and she has been better every day sine.  Back to normal today as a matter of fact.

Dr wssn't sure she needed the meds to begin with.  He felt it was a virus, but gave them to her just in case because I had so many infections swarming my body.

They shouldn't, but being on abx can throw you off kilter.  That could explain her not being herself.  The sleepiness was probably most likely due to the virus and her little system being run-down to begin with.
