NBR: Yippee, it's Friday!

I just want to shout from the rooftops that today is Friday.  I teach 1st grade and the last 3 days we've tested for 3 hours straight (which I think is totally inappropriate developmentally  for these young kids...they are 6-7 years old for goodness sake's).

Today we are going to celebrate being finished by eating popcorn, watching a movie, and having recess for a looooong time (it's supposed to be sunny and 85 here today).

Amy, I can imagine that must've been tough, especially in the spring, towards the end of the school year where they're already stir crazy for summer vacation! Enjoy your long recess on a beautiful day! I'm very jealous!  

I am excited it's friday, because this is the last day at my school. ( work for a vocational school as their counselor and i'm not  doing another year here.) I am super excited to move onto the next step in my life

Oh my goodness!!!  I agree with you that's way too long for that age group to focus and not only focus but to also be evaluated on their progress etc.  Yay for being done!! Have a wonderful popcorn party!
