We are trying to decide if it's time to move DD up to size 1 diapers. The size 1's seem a little big on her, but the newborns may be too small. She had a major poop explode up her entire back onto her arms (TMI, I know) last evening and I'm wondering if it's b/c she's outgrowing the diapers. The weight limit says 10 lbs. on the high end, but I know this doesn't work for all babies.
How do you really decide your LO is ready for the next size?
Re: How do you decide it's time to increase diaper size?
DS was never in NB diapers but when the 1s were too small they were hard to fasten, they leaked and left marks.
Here is my shameless plug for costco diapers:
If you have a costco acct...Try the kirkland diapers, the 1-2s fit Colin really well for a longer period of time and they are CHEAP! We still use the kirkland diapers and I LOVE them.
Ditto, when they start getting tight and leaving marks is one way to tell.
?
I've experienced blowouts in all sizes at all times so I don't think you can escape that, lol?
Thanks ladies!
Sadly, we live as far away as possible from all of the Costco's! We belong to BJ's so we'll stick w/ the pampers. Do you think BRU will exchange the box of N's I haven't even opened from the sale they had a few weeks ago - I don't think I kept the receipt.
I did notice some marks on Ella when I changed her last diaper. Good thing we took a bunch of size 1's from the hospital, since I won't be able to get to BRU or BJ's until this weekend!

I would move on up to the 1's- leaks and diaper explosions are usually my first indication that it's time. Of course, Gavin has had diaper explosions even in the correct size but much less than if he is in a size too small. The next size up always looks huge at first, but within a couple days I get used to them.
Too funny Shoshanah! Ella is in the 1's and they are definitely snug enough. We'll make sure that she doesn't leak on any more of our friends (
).
