1st Trimester

Don't eat CHINESE FOOD or

chicken salad sandwiches.

its causes spasms in utero (and it might give you killer gas--why take the risk?)

  • Hmm, it looks like the original poster deleted--I was about to post this:

I was concerned about MSG with my first pregnancy too. From what I've read, it's not known to affect the baby (studies are inconclusive though), although it's high in sodium so it's better to avoid it. You can ask Chinese restaurants to not use any MSG in your food.

Do you know how many things people recommend you avoid while pregnant?

Thank you for your answer, I appreciate it. I deleted because I am disgusted by the responses I received to an honest question. Glad to hear I'm not crazy and someone else has had the same question! I am sure the people looking at this has never had an out of blue question in their lives, because they are perfect and know everything. C'est la vie...

  • I was told to avoid crack while pg but I'm fine.

not the point. sometimes one has to use common sense and when in doubt about the potential health of their fetus, call the doctor.

don't ask strangers on the internet.

but maybe thats just me being perfect and being a know it all on the internets.Confused

  • My DH would like to know how women in China get through their pregnancies if they don't eat any Chinese Food? Also, what about Sushi? Isn't that like an every day food in Japan? What is this bs about chicken salad sandwiches? Good lord people...lighten up! You aren't going to kill your child because you had some chicken chow mein or sweet n sour pork...

I have stupid questions all the time. But my first thought is GOOGLE...not to ask the question on this board. If you've been around for any amount of time, you'd realize that stupid questions like this will get stupid answers.

  • I personally can't wait to add some feta cheese to my chinese food, while drinking a 6-pack of diet coke....

(it's one of those days, I'm loving the snark and pissy about all the restriction when all I want to do is puke)

Just an FYI... it helps to have a sense of humor on a message board.  Questions that are kinda common sense, will get ripped on.  If you get ripped on, shrug it off...
