Is this wishful thinking or might dh have a point?

I posted this morn that we just got my dh's SA results and his morph is severley abnormal - but everything else was good, especially his count which was 160M.   His point was in a normal range of count, 2% of 20M may be low.  But since his count is strong, 2% of his 160M might not be "as" bad as it would be with someone with a 20M count.    Does this compute - or just wishful thinking?  I do give him points for trying to find the bright side of a crappy situation.

  • i would love to hear the answer to this too - in theory I would think yes - because that means you have 36m guys to work with vs. 4m....... hmm

He has a point. At least, my RE made an observation like that to me. My DH has bad morph too, as well as bad numbers & motility. He's on Clomid to bump up his numbers and motility. Apparently Clomid does nothing for morph and I asked my RE what the point of Clomid was since obviously morph matters. She said if the quantity gets high enough they'll have enough of the normal ones even if % overall is bad. I'm not sure at what point that becomes an option. We'd still have to do an IUI if that happened so it wouldn't mean natural conception, at least in our case. Good luck!
