Its has been 4 years and I am still bitter about the fact that they dropped a TV on my wedding cake. I am so jealous of everyone's pretty wedding cake photos and I can't watch the wedding cake shows on the food network.

I'm still upset that my florist completely botched my bridal portrait flowers.  I really don't like the pictures with them in it.  I seriously hate them.  I should have ditched them completely or had someone run down the street to the store and throw something else together.  Thank God she redeemed herself for my wedding, she was almost fired over the bridal ones.

MIL made it and so I am sure she could recreate it but she has said over and over she has retired from the wedding cake business. I have pics of it preTV, but its not put together.

FIL and DH dropped the TV on it. They decided to take the cake and a TV for a slide show to the recption place at the same time and took a corner too fast and the tv smashed the biggest layer of the cake, the layer that had all the decorations on it. I wonder if I can find the pic I had MIL copy online and claim its mine. LOL

My cake was covered in the most amazing sugar paste roses that the baker spent forever working on.  I planned to put them on people's plates and save a few as mementos.  Well, the people working the reception thought they were pretty and stole them all.  One of my dad's coworkers saw them carrying them out of the reception.  I had the baker recreate the top of the cake with a few flowers for my anniversary, and I still have the sugar paste flowers in a little case in my dining room.

 I think being  that it is your MIL it would be worth asking.  Offer to buy all  the ingredients etc.  Even if it is just a smaller version.

I would be upset about that.

I fantasize about losing weight and having bridal portraits done, since I have no good pics of me in my dress alone.  Even though I'm probably 20 pounds heavier and hated the way I looked then and have been married for 3.5 years.

The thing is she spent weeks making lily pads with little yellow flowers.  The bottom layer had blue "water" with lily pads and swans swimming. It would have been so pretty Maybe I can hint around and get one for our 5th anniversary.
