Our local radio station had a contest called tats for tots and they tattood the kid yesterday on the air.
I am all for tats, but not on my 8 year old child. NO WAY!
As soon as the artist started, the kid was saying "ouch, that hurts". The DJ told the mom to move closer to her son, so he could see her and hold her hand, she said "he's fine, he can handle it".
Re: Would you allow your 8 year old to get a tattoo?
Is that even legal?
Really?!?! I would never agree to giving permission for anything that has an age requirement to it. When you get to be that age, you can do it. Until then, unless you can figure out a way to do it on your own, it won't be happening.
I agree. I had to wait until I was 18 for mine. I hope that DD never wants one

Yup I would but there would be restrictions on it. You have to be doing good in school and stay out of trouble. My mom signed permission for my sister to get her belly button and eye brow pierced. Its not a big deal to me
I just went back to look at the website and apparently it was a hoax.
I didn't listen to the whole segment, because it really made my stomach hurt.
Sorry ladies.
My 18 y/o cousin got a tattoo when she was 14 (her step-dad owns a tattoo place in Philly) and now she HATES it and can't wait to get it lasered off.
When you are that young it is your parents responsibility to make GOOD decisions for you. I don't care about piercings, they can come out and close, but I won't let my child get a tattoo until they can get it on their own.
FWIW, I have 3 tats and had several piercings before I had DD1. I'm not against them, I just don't think it's a decision a child should be making.
kevs -- piercings. I could probably be swayed.
Tattoos -- nope. I didn't get my first one until almost 21 and I still wish I had waited (as a matter of fact, my very first one is now covered up with another one).
