I just found out today that I am expected to be here on Sunday.  GRRR....

My boss is leaving the company and Friday is her last day.  So, I have to be here on Sunday to do something I've never done before.  DH has been gone all week so I've been dealing with early pregnancy (i.e. off and on MS), my 3 year old, end of semester with school, etc all week by myself.  Saturday we are super busy so I was really looking forward to Sunday being my day of rest and relaxation.

I'm just really irritated right now!! And the worst part of it is that I don't even know how to do what it is that they are asking me to do.

When did they tell you about that....I would have said that you already have a committment for that day........

I often work Sundays and believe me, it's no fun at all. You have my sympathy!

Are you hourly? If you are at least you'll get a nice paycheck from it. For me, it's just another day (at least, according to my company).

I know.  I totally screwed up.  My boss was telling me about it like as if it was kind of expected.  Then like 15 minutes later she says "is it going to be a problem for you to come in on Sunday" and I was kind of like, "um, no, that should be fine, I think."

I actually wouldn't have a problem with it but I was asking her "what time do I need to be here" and "how long do you think I will be here" and I couldn't get a straight answer.  I just *know* based on past experience that I will get here and spend hours on end being here but the task I need to do will take all of 20 minutes.  This place is so inefficient.

I'm seriously thinking about going into her office around midday and saying "oh my gosh, I just looked at my schedule and remembered that I have _____ going on.  How important is it going to be that I be here?"

seriously, unless I was getting paid a nice bonus or getting comp time off for during the week I wouldn't be doing it.  Of course my DH works on weekends (we own a business so there is no way around that) so my answer to "is it is problem for you to come in on Sunday" would have been "I don't know, is it a problem for you to have a 1 and 3 year old running around the office".
