It is my ongoing opinion that if you like a name, use it. If you want a Sam, don't name him Samuel, name him Sam. Likewise with Lucy, Katie, and yes, Allie. I like Allie, way cute. So I say go for it rather than give her a 'full' name you don't like as well.

I like Alexandra, Allison, Alexa, Alexis. I have to disagree with a PP. I think if you like Allie, you should still choose a more formal name for her birth certificate, but just call her Allie. That way when she is older she will be able to choose either the nickname or the more formal name. Alexandra might look more professional than Allie on a resume or a business card. JMO.?
I think if you like the name Allie, just go with it. It doesn't have to be "short" for anything. My cousin's daughter is named Allie and I think it's a beautiful name.

My cousin just had a little girl she named Allie. Not short for anything, it's just Allie.
Alyssa, Alexandra, Alexandria, Alexis, Alexa, and Allina are all names that could have Allie as the nn.
If you want to be a little unusual you could go for a name like Allegra, Alaine, Alethea, or Allya.
Alice
Allena
Alma
Allegra
Althea
Alessandra

I love Alexandra, Alexis and Alisa.
There's also Alyssa, Alicia and Alina.
I'd definitely prefer a full name w/ the nn Allie/Ali/Ally.
