PTing question. Please come in if you use a timer

I use a kitchen time set every 15 minutes....Michelle knows when the timer goes off its time to go potty.

When did you stop using the timer and relying on the child to tell he or shee has to go?

Re: PTing question. Please come in if you use a timer

  • I used a timer with both kids but stopped after the first week or so with both.  Both were doing fine. I still have to occasionally remind my DS to go though when he's busy, otherwise, he waits until it is a complete emergency and there's no physical way I can get him to the toilet and clothes down.

  • I quit using the timer after a couple of days.

  • After a few days we stopped I got in the habit of just telling her she needed to go sit on the potty.  I needed the timer more than she did. :}
