Bought it because it was the "manager's special" this week but I have no idea what to do with it. And I already defrosted it so now I'm under the gun to come up with something. Any recipes you care to share?
I use it like ground beef... I make turkey burgers seasoned with the powdered ranch dressing... or I'll cook it up and make meat sauce to go over spaghetti.
We've made awesome turkey burgers before. You put onions, garlic, and ketchup in with the meat to keep them nice and moist.
I'm not sure if this is the exact recipe we used before (I tend to use really lean turkey meat- like 97% or 99% fat free), but this is essentially what we do:
You can do anything you would use beef for. If I dont have anything in the house and cant get to the store. I mak some rice and mixed veggies and mix everything together ad a little soy sauce then dish out.
We use it for Turkey Burgers, I add a little fennel seed to it, gives it a little bit of an italian sweet sausage flavor!
I also use it to make a baked pasta dish (ground turkey, artichokes, capers, chopped tomatoes, some frozen peas, tomato sauce, over cooked pasta, baked with mozzarella cheese on top)
