I just got a call from Maternal-Fetal specialists to give me the results of my Sequential screen....we are at increased risk for neural tube defect. I have to go back in tomorrow for genetic counseling and another US to get a good look at the baby's spine. I'm sure everything will be fine, but of course the mother in me is freaking out. We've seen the baby's back A LOT because he seems to like to be facing my back, but hopefully we can rule out any problems tomorrow and I can go on being my carefree self. So anyway, just wanted to share......I am so over ultrasounds......

I hope you have nothing to worry about.  That test is notorious for false positives.  I got an increased risk for neural tube defects with my son, but we had already had our big US and saw no issues, so they were not overly worried.  I did get 2 more detailed ultrasounds though, which was nice to put my mind at ease and see the baby again.  I'll be thinking about you!

Ugh!  I'm sorry to hear you got bad news today, Shosh.  We'll all keep your fingers crossed for you that ToBe is fine (as I'm sure he will be).  Definitely keep us posted on the results.

PS Shelly...my mom doesn't really know what she's doing on facebook (trust me, I've tried to help her - it's pointless). She probably thinks she knows you (she knows a lot of my friends). I think I talked about you and Ella while she was visiting. You can ignore her if you want, or I can email her and ask...that's so funny!
