2nd Trimester

Brushing teeth...

Ok, I can't stand brushing my teeth, it makes me nauseous every day. Anyone else experience something like this or am I the only goofball?

Re: Brushing teeth...

  • Sometimes it does... I agree. BUT I think it might be my toothpaste, mixed with the gagging thing. FI bought this nasty, orange toothpaste and it's disgusting.

BTW: FI has to be told to brush his damn teeth sometimes... so why he got to pick out the toothpaste is beyond me.

  • I rather enjoy the minty freshness.  Is it the toothbrush in your mouth or the toothpaste?
  • Not since 1st trimester with morning sickness. But, it was horrible when I was having bad morning sickness.

  • The really strong minty toothpastes make me feel sick, so I switched to Colgate Expressions vanilla mint. Its minty enough to be fresh, but not overpowering.

  • This and swallowing pills are hang ups for me leftover from m/s in 1st tri. I still take chewables for fear of vomiting when trying to swallow PNVs and I still only brush my teeth once a day (in the morning) b/c I fear vomiting while doing it! And yeah, brushing the tongue stopped like back at 4 weeks. I feel like my mouth is going to need a SERIOUS dental visit at the end of all this...
  • I can't brush my tongue without gagging.  Sometimes I have to force it, other times I literally can't do it.  I hate it.
  • ...always makes me puke! ?

It's in general. Everytime I wake up & before I go to bed I just think ugh not again. I think I'll be needing a nice dental check up when I'm done here as well.

  • It makes me SO SO sick in the morning... ?I lean over the sink gagging and begging to throw up while husband looks on in horror, but throughout the day I want to brush my teeth all the time. ?weirdness.
  • Since this BFP, I have been dry heaving every morning when I brush my teeth, it is awful and I dread it every morning, it doesn't happen at night though.
  • I gag every time I brush my tongue. This was going on long before pregnancy though.
