Magazines like Parents or American Baby often have coupons good for $5 off any bear of $10 or more. Might be worth flipping through any back issues you may have.

ditto ready2go. Don't buy the food which is crap and overpriced. We always just got the bear and maybe ONE accessory, then next birthday/christmas etc we'd add to it with just the clothes which are not that bad one by one. Its really worth goingat an offpeak time so the experience is not rushed and crowded.
My DS loves his (well, he really loves 1 of nthe 4 more than the others.) I now know to focus on the $10 or $12 ones. DS loves his animals to have a sound but not ito the accessories besides sunglasses.

Re: S/O Build a Bear
I think 25-35 is probably about right. You can def. spend more depending on the clothes/accessories.
here's the way I look at it....$25-35 for a bear = not worth it, but making it a big event and activity for an afternoon for $25-35 = worth it :-)
