I already use All free and clear for all of our laundy b/c DH has horrible allergies to all kinds of laundry detergent/scents. It has worked well for us. And yes, much cheaper!
I've been using it for DH's and my clothes for years...no need to change it up now! (FWIW, DH has horrible allergies and has no issues with this detergent.)
I have a bottle of Dreft that I've used to wash everything up to this point, but DH and I went to the store the other day and I was going to get Tide Free so that I would be able to wash all the baby stuff along with ours and not have to do special loads for the baby. His opinion was that there will be enough baby stuff (what with clothes, towels, diaper cloths, etc.) that we'll have to do separate loads for the baby anyway, so we should stick with the Dreft.
I don't think it really matters, but the Dreft smells like a baby, so I like it!
We are using Tide Free and Clear. I figured that it was easier to just switch DH and myself over to using this detergent as opposed to buying one detergent for us and one for the baby. I still keep our laundry and the baby's laundry separate, but at least we can all use the same detergent!
We used All F&C when DS was little, he never had any problems. IMO Dreft is just to rip off new parents. If you buy it b/c you like the scent then fine, but it's definitely not needed for most babies like it's marketed.

I have sensitive skin and use the All Free & Clear for all our stuff anyway (except for some of our dark clothes, which my mom has talked me into using a "dark clothes" detergent on to neutralize chlorine)
Re: Dreft vs. All free and clear
I use Tide free and clear.
I hate the smell of Dreft, it make my stomach turn.
we use a free and clear for ALL of our laundry. Much easier and cheaper!
(plus, dreft has dyes and perfumes. some babies will react to that)
