Why can't there be consistent information out there? I've been using Neutrogena face wash and acne treatment throughout my pregnancy and i just read in 2 different books that I shouldn't use it. Why do some books say it's ok and others say not to? Have I caused birth defects??? What to do now?
Re: So, is Neutrogena safe? :(
Doubtful. ?I think if it was THAT bad it would have to have a warning on it, since tons of pregnant women do not read message boards or pregnancy books and are none the wiser.
I have used a salicylic acid toner throughout my pregnancy and the baby is fine (well at least all tests have said so). ?Babycenter.com said you would have to be getting body peels with the stuff to cause any harm to the baby.?
This is exactly what I use. Then I came to the Bump and got all freaked out....lol.
I asked my Dr. and he said as long as I don't eat or slap the whole tube on my face there is no danger. He told me to use it if it works. He said the issue with S.Acid is if it comes in a really strong concentration....and you leave it sit like with a body peel. But on your face and the typical 2% is perfectly fine.
This is almost exactly what my dr told me, too. Same with benzoyl peroxide.
