I was wondering this the other day while looking at some at Home Depot. My thinking was that they give off fumes, right? So maybe they aren't safe? Anyway, I googled them and found this on wiki: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Citronella_oil

Which says they're non toxic. If you are still worried, give your OB a call and the nurse can tell you on whether or not to be around them.
