What is this?

Since we have been home, I have been EP.  Two days ago I started to develop a rash on my breasts and it has gotten worse.  It isn't on the nipple, just on the area underneath and to the sides.  It is bright red and itches/hurts like a b*tch!  I rinse the pump parts after every use and sterilize it once a day.  Did anyone else experience this? What doctor should I call about this?

Sounds like it could be yeast/thrush. It usually is described as affecting the nipple, but when I had it the only signs were a red, itchy (really, really itchy) rash on the side of my breast. The doctor gave me a cream that cleared it right up.

 

Call your OB and see if they can check it for you. Mine always had appts open with a CNM or RN for breastfeeding issues. Hopefully they can get you checked out soon.
