XP- Toxic Crib Mattress?

I was planning on purchasing the Simmoms Health Assure crib mattress from Sears as I thought it was considered 'safe', however, after doing a little research, I have found that it contains polyurethane foam which can be dangerous. Now I am not sure what to do. Is anyone else concerned about 'toxic' a mattresses? What did you decide to do?

My husband and I really thought about this issue for a long time.  We want to be EF and budget-concious (you could call us cheap).  Ultimately, we decided to buy an organic mattress (the NaturePedic No Compromise one).  It was our biggest baby expenditure by far ($279).  We know what we can't protect our little girl from everything that's toxic, but decided that the place where she will be sleeping for 2-3 years (our crib converts to a toddler bed) should be as safe as possible.  I get nervous about big purchases and don't regret this one at all.

We were given a mattress with the crib a friend gave us, which is supposed to be worse about giving off gasses than a new one.  I'm planning on wrapping it, so nothing should be getting anywhere near the baby.  Babesafe makes the cover and you can order it online.

We bought from organicgrace.com which was definitely our biggest splurge for the nursery (I think it was $260 w/ free shipping).  And just a plug for their amazing customer service.  If you decide to go the totally organic route, I highly rec them.
