My DH and I have an interview Monday for the 4yo and 2yo we were matched with thru our agency. We don't know much about what to expect other than that the interviewing panel consists of our caseworker, the adoption caseworker, the foster mom, and an objective 3rd party.
We received a letter today saying we can bring pictures and a list of questions. Is anyone familiar with this process. Any suggestions, tips, etc?
I read the social assessment of the 2yo so I feel I have a strong understanding of the history of the children. We of course will ask lots of questions about their medical needs and services. What other questions should we make sure to ask? I'm so nervous, scared, and excited, my mind is failing me!
Re: Committe interview for public adoption?
We just went through this about 6 weeks ago for a 9 year old in the foster care system. We had a matching meeting where we were presented with his case history and other info, then a few days letter met with his current caregivers. We decided to go forward and started visitation a few days later. We presented a photo album to be shared with him before he met us and everything is going really well. He now spends weekends with us and will move in at the end of the school year for good. If you have any questions, feel free to page me at the top!
