Do you consider the name Rowan to be a girl or boy name? and i know its probably a gender neutral name but when you hear it what do you think it is?

I love that name for a boy but I just heard a little girl named Rowan so I wanted your opinions.

Ditto.  It's the name of the actor that plays Mr. Bean and also the first name of the Archbishop of Canterbury. First I heard of it as a girl's name was in Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles.

It can be for girls or boys, but considering that it means "Little Redhead" it is a pretty limiting name.

My cousin's daughter's name is Rowan - so I associate it with girls. ?I think it could be used as either, though.

How about Ronan - definitely a masculine name... my DH loves it, but it's not on our list b/c our LN starts with "R" and alliteration in names is NMS.
