PTing question. She stays dry in diapers but pees in panties

DD will keep a diaper dry all day with maybe one or two accidents. 

If I put her in panties, she wets them over and over.

I know it's just something she's going to need to relearn, but it feels like PTing all over.

Anyone else experience this?  Any tips?

I'm not trying to be snarky here but maybe its because she's only 1.5?  I think that is WAAAY early to expect a kid to get and be ready for PTing.

Ditto the other posts.  Also If she is only peeing once or twice a day are you sure everything is ok?   Is she getting enough liquids?

Wow. She just turned 16 months old. That's really, really early to expect her to stay dry. I don't even know how she would understand the concept at that age. We didn't even attempt to PT until DD turned 2. Even then it was a process. On top of that, there was a study published recently that determined that there is a hormone that plays a huge part in PTing. The child essentially has to produce this hormone to understand PTing and stay dry. This doesn't kick in until after 2 years old. Just curious, but is there a reason you're pushing this at such a young age?

In diapers she tells us when she needs to potty and pees in it about 8 times a day. She dislikes being wet so she likes to use the potty. I was suprised that she would this young, but I was not about to stop her.
