HELP! How sick can a 1 year old get by eating...

Human Feces.  Yes... poop. Alot of poop.

DS was playing outside with the big boys while I was making lunch.  We have one of those "house" in the backyard and I could see him playing in it.  I called the boys in and I went out to get him and he was covered, from head to toe and allllllll over his hands and faces in what I *thought* was mud.  No biggie- he's a boy.

Until I got closer and SMELLED what the hell he was playing in and immediately I knew it belonged to my 5 yr. old SS, who's pooping issues I deal with constantly.  He admitted to putting poop inside the hose and sink of the house one day when he was playing...

DS got a good bath before lunch and nap but.. #1- Eww how effing gross, and #2- can he get sick from it??  Should I call pedi or just wait?

Wow. Just. Wow.

If it were me, I would call the pedi on a just-in-case basis. I don't think he could really get sick from it. (Unless SS has ecoli, and then you're in for some fun diaper changes.)

Oh my god.  Bless you.  I'd sell the child.  I think he's probably fine.  In my practice I had several clients who routinely smeared and ate their own feces.  But I might call and speak to advice nurse.  I don't know if old poop is worse than the fresh stuff...
