While pregnant? It sounds so good to me, on a bagel w/ cream cheese and tomato...I had never had this until a few years ago (I'm a shiksa LOL) but I love it! I was thinking of having but don't know if its worth the guilt...
Technically it's smoked (cooked) so it should be ok, but smoked foods are on most "don't" lists. If you're going to feel guilty about it, skip it though. I ate a phili sushi roll (smoked salmon) last week and it was sooo good and worth it!
No, but I really want it. I've had lunchmeat and caffeine, but the salmon is cold smoked, so I figure it will be one of those things I can have after baby arrives.

I had a few bites of lox soon after finding out I was pregnant, but before discovering it was a no-no. I guess it's like lunchmeat - take the risk if you want, all in moderation, blah blah blah...
I also eat lunchmeat, ceasar salad, hot dogs (well, turkey dogs), and cooked sushi (the only kind I really like), but I haven't had the occasion to have lox yet.
If you are worried, just heat it up first (not as good, though)?
Actually technically it's not cooked, it's raw. I avoided it during my first pregnancy, but I guess I have just been weak this pregnancy, I have eaten it quite a few times. MMMMMM
yes, I'm going to pregnancy hell. I eat LOTS of no-no stuff. I don't eat a lot of it, but I do indulge in caffeine, turkey sandwiches, sushi (occassionally raw) and a glass of wine every now and again.
My kid only has 10 fingers and toes so far ;-)

I would be cautious about eating lox. The reason doctors recommend staying away from raw foods is the chance of getting a bacterial infection. Even sushi that isn't raw is prepared on the same cutting board as the raw fish. I had a friend who ate the California rolls and got severe diarrhea while she was pregnant. In my opinion it isn't worth the risk.
Re: Anyone had lox while pregnant?
I have not, but I would. I LOVE lox!
