Im scared to go to the doctor tomorrow

lol. Im having my first internal. And I know that its different for everyone...but I have NO CLUE what to expect!

Well, imagine a the same internal exam you get when you get your annual pap-smear done. it's really no different than that--except they tend to reach up further if you have already started effacing and/or dilating. It's not comfy, but it hurts a hellava lot more once you're in labor. Don't be scared, though! it's exciting to see if you made any progress:)

It's not that bad unless baby is really low.  I wanted to squirm right off of the hospital bed when I had internals while in labor.  OB visit internals have never bothered me, though.  Good luck!

Maybe I'm a pessimist, but I say expect the worst. That way you can only be pleasantly surprised lol.

I had one a couple weeks ago.. I told the Dr this: "If I wanted to be fisted, I would have joined the Porn industry." With that being said, it's really not that bad.

Do not be afraid little grasshopper, it wasn't bad at all.  Maybe its because I'm not dialated, but I really didn't find it to be that bad.  He puts his hand up there....checks it out....reports the findings and woo hoo, you're done!
