I was at work today and this patient came in.  I was getting some of her info and she said,

"You know, you are really a cute girl (hehe..thanks!), do you have children?" 

I responded with a simple "not yet." 

Her response, "Oh girl, wait as long as you can and enjoy yourself before taking that next step." 

Seriously?????  I wanted to reach over the counter and tell her about how we have been trying and how each month I am disappointed it has not happened yet. About how I want nothing more than to be a mother.  But I didn't.  I just sat there and smiled..

That's all...Thanks for letting me vent..

I hear stuff like this all the time. It's usually from people who have young kids and who miss their "freedom."

Right now, my dear SIL, who has two adorable little boys, likes to point at the bags under her eyes and say, "you sure you want kids?"

People telling me to wait and that I "didn't really know who I was yet". Um, you don't know me either! The only thing you can do is just sit there and smile.

Yeah, you are exactly right.....I too got that a lot while I was engaged.  Everyone told me I was too young---I was 23 DH was 27 at the time!  Crazy people, just leave us alone and live our life! hehehe

Trust me, I understand how it feels.  You better get some tough skin though.  People will be giving your advice and their opinions even once you DO get pregnant.

I am feeling OK...thanks for asking.  Just waiting for this little man to show up already!
