Whose DC is still not crawling, army crawling, etc at 9 months? My DS is not yet. He's up and rocking on his hands and knees, but we have no forward locomotion. DD, his twin sis, has been army crawling for over 2 months, and real crawling for a month.
He's not pulling up yet, either, so I'm not sure he's one who's just going to skip crawling all together. He does roll over, sit, etc. He's also a VERY big boy -- 26-27 lbs and 32".
Should I fret?
Re: 9 months... still not crawling/army crawling
DS didn't crawl until after 10 months. He walked at 13 months.
No need to fret
Oh my he is a big boy! I'm sure his size has something to do with it, but I wouldn't fret. My son didn't crawl til he was 11 months and was walking at 13 months. Once he started, he couldn't be stopped! lol
Bubblegum Explosion
DS isn't doing it yet... he just rolls to where he wants to go. Sometimes he gets on his hands and knees but doesn't ever go anywhere that way. One solitary time, he has tried to drag himself on his belly, but he gave that up and started to roll.
Don't fret! He'll do it when he's ready.
I think it definitely them longer to crawl when they are bigger- DS rocked on all 4's for about 2 months. He didnt start crawling until the day he turned 9 mos and it was still slow and shakey. This week he is really getting the hang of it and getting pretty fast- so I wouldnt worry, some babies dont crawl at all, and others crawl a little later.
I got you beat! DS1 didn't crawl until he was 1 week shy of 1 year old! And he never started off by rocking on all 4s. At about 10 1/2 months, he started pushing himself backwards, 11 months, comando crawling, and 1 year, reg. crawling. Just think of us when you are worried! He started walking late too- 16 months, but he's 2.4 now, and totally caught up to other kids his age- you would never know he was so late.
