TTC after 35

I am obsessed with POAS

I just keep counting down the days...It is kind of frustating that I can obsess about something so much

Re: I am obsessed with POAS

  • I totally know what you mean....before TTC I didnt even care about the date on the calendar other then to know when to expect AF.

Now I live by the calendar....day to expect AF, day to O , days past O, how many days late I am.....

I actually look at my calendar more then my bank balance.....

Good luck and hang in there!

  • I have said it before . . .

TTC and obsessive personality are not a good mix!!  Really, it brings out the worst in me.

  • Me too.  I always calculate the earliest possible test day every cycle, and I have the tests ready to go.   It makes me feel better to test at least once before AF gets the chance to show up.  It's like beating the old biddy to the door.  Warped gratification, I know.....

  • Yep, I'm POAS addicted. I was bummed that my CBEFM did want me to POAS today. Now I have to wait 10 more days before pg testing...well that would be if I has any will power not to test. Thank goodness for the dollar tree tests.

  • The 2WW sucks.  I am at the end.  AF should show today...if not...we'll see.  I am starting to suspect that my chart might be off by two days.  There is a OPK+ in there that when removed, puts me at 13DPO rather than 15.

Hang in there.  My advice?  Resist the temptation to POAS early.  I know that we see gals getting BFPs at >12DPO, but by all accounts it's not the norm.  Try to wait until you're late and save yourself some money and heartache.  This was my first 2WW and I have driven myself insane with "symptoms" and BFNs.  My mantra now?  I will wait until I am late.

Other than that...try your best to distract yourself.  I did find that browsing TwoWeekWait.com and CountdownToPregnancy.com was somewhat helpful.  And just know that you're not alone.

GL!  I hope this cycle is IT for you!

Hello, my name is QE2 and I'm a POAS addict. I know the chances of getting a BFP on CD 10 is very low, but maybe, just maybe it could be positive.?

TTC since 3/08 DOR, High FSH, Hypothyroid, Uterine Polyps, blocked tube, MFI, 5 rounds of clomid, 5 IVF attempts, 2 hysteroscopies, 2 natural conceptions=2 losses (Methotrexate, D&C) Successful DE cycle twins born 10/7/11 Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker
  • I actually tested this month. I usually have a temp drop before the day FF says I can test, so I normally don't bother POAS. I got a BFN yesterday, but I may actually pee on sticks twice this month if I don't have a low temp in the morning.
As soon as I get AF, I am already counting the days for the O time so I can make sure DH is home, what we have going on, etc. I think I am always counting days and keeping track of way too much! Oh well! I'll do it if it will help me get my baby!

  • The stick peeing I am not too too addicted to, but is kinda still a bit new to me I guess.

It's fertility friend that massages my compulsive habits. THAT I am addicted to looking at.

  • I am not a POAS addict. I feel a little odd because I'm not. I do temp very regularly and like CathyMD said above, I obsess with FF.
