What exactly does a buddy do?

I'm still fairly new here and ?have seen a couple of posts about buddies. ?What exactly does a buddy do? ?How can I get a buddy? Who can be a buddy?

A buddy is alerted when you go into labor and when the baby is born.  So that we can share in the excitement.  They share only teh details you tell them to share, so if you want to keep the details to yourself to share, that can be arranged.  We just like to know everyone is happy and healthy and doing okay.  Anyone can be your buddy.  I'd be happy to do so, if you would like.

yep, everything that taffy said. you NEED to have a buddy. we get concerned if we don't hear from someone after we know they've headed to the hospital (or if we don't hear from someone who is close to their due date).

you can set it up to have your husband call/ text/ email, whatev. and like taffy said, if you want to share the name, stats, etc. that's cool ORRRR you can just say that your baby has arrived and wait to share all the details once you're back online!

i would volunteer to be your buddy, but you want to find someone who isn't close to your due date.
