When a comment on the Braydon/Brady post below made me remember how many times I had to hear the "Brady Bunch" song growing up with the last name Brady. I really want to use my maiden name for my son but I hope he doesn't have this problem. It will be his middle name so I can't imagine it being that bad but, man, if I had a dollar for everytime I heard a joke/reference to that damn show! Now that I haven't been a Brady for a few years, I actually really like it as a first or middle name but still kinda hate it as a last name.

The worst part is my dad's name is Bobby! LOL

There are a lot of names like this, though.  When I was growing up, I got Toni/y the Tiger a lot - "Theeeeeey're grrrrreeeeeaaat!"  Yeah, that got old after the first 100 times.

I doubt as a middle name it will be too much of a problem.

I've seen  you post about the name Brady several times, and I've never even thought of the Brady Bunch!!!

I'm not sure kids today watch the Brady Bunch.  Plus, it'll be his middle name, so I doubt the other kids will pick up on it at all!

That's good that you never thought about it! I was thinking that DS's friends will be less likely to know about the show but then again it was pretty old when I was in school, too. Also, I heard it all the time as an adult, too...

BUT I feel safe- as a middle name, it shouldn't be a big deal when he's a kid or an adult.

I honestly think those jokes are as old as us. Our kids will not be joking about the Brady Bunch. Here in New England more ppl think of Tom Brady these days, if anything.
