I know she can't have whole milk until a year old, but we are getting close. Do I slowly start giving it to her in replace of a bottle? And should I start right at a year or a little later? Thanks ya'll
We started at 11 months, maybe 1-2 oz of milk and rest formula, slowly increase and at 12 months went to all milk. No problems for us. I don't think she even realized it changed. She even accepted taking it cold (formula was always warm). We do 2% though. I refuse to have whole or skim milk in my house, pedi said the 2% was fine for the first year. Plus it's what I grew up on.
i thought they needed the fat in whole milk for development? i was told whole milk for the year then at age 2 can switch to 2%
this can depend on how well they are eating solids. if they are eating good and pedi say's it's ok- you can do 2%.
Per Pedi - at 10 mo I started doing 4 oz bottles and filling the rest up to 6 oz with whole milk. at 11 mo. I will do 3 oz formula and the rest (up to 6oz) with milk. (she gets 24 oz a day formula milk mix. 80% formula). 11 1/2 mo prob 2 oz and the rest up to 6 oz milk. then by 1 year she's on whole milk.
