Anyone have The First Years bottle warmer?

...and discovered that it takes more water to heat the bottles than is recommended?  I've been heating my 2 oz bottles with double the amount of water they suggest.  Maybe I'm misreading the directions, but the milk is cold using the amount of water they suggest.

  • yes, how much water are you using and what size bottle is it?

  • I stopped measuring.  I just take the bottle out a couple times to check it as it's heating.

  • I have to use double the water as well.

I also thought I was doing something wrong. I re-read the instructions a million times.

  • Ours have been fine. They are room temp, I don't want them to be warmer than that, so it has been fine or us.

I just use a 9 oz bottle for 2 oz of milk and I measure the water to the 8 level, instead of the 4 as it suggests.

for our 9 oz bottle, i put water up to the 10 line and it's perfect every time, regardless of how much formula is in there.  for the 5 oz bottles, its up to the 6 line.

Yeah...8 seems to be okay for DD for 2 ounces, but I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.  Strange that the recommended amounts don't heat the milk to a good temp.

hm. what kind of bottle is it?  are you sure it's a wide neck one?  just curious since the standard says fill to 7...
