Pregnancy Rash this early?

A few days ago I noticed a few prickly, red bumps on the back of my shoulder, and since then it has spread to my lower back, arms, stomach, and chest. They are relatively small patches, but are pretty itchy. I've heard of pregnancy rash, but was told that it usually doesn't occur until the late 2nd or 3rd trimester. I don't have any allergies that I'm aware of and haven't been using any new soaps, lotions, etc. I would assume that any reactions I may have gotten from the pre-natals I have been taking since week 4 would have shown up far before week 11.

I've called my doctor and have an appointment to see him later today, but was just wondering if this has occured to anyone else so far, and if so, how you may have relieved the itching. Thanks for your help!

I haven't had any large patches. But I have had a rash on my ring finger under my wedding rings that sounds like that.. I think I read on here that that is common in Preg. women!

I break out every night in hives on my legs - I have since before my BFP - and it happens no matter where I am, what I'm wearing, diet, lotion, etc. OB said it's just a reaction to the hormones & to take a benadryl or try a benadryl "bite stick." It seems to do the trick.

Don't write it off as a pregnancy rash just yet. I made that mistake when I was pregnant with my first child. This is gross and freaks me out to this day, but the symptoms of a pregnancy rash are almost the exact same as scabies. (google it if you don't know what I'm talking about) My ex husband was in the military and contracted "scabies" while in the field for training. He blessed me with the little devils too. Shortly after he gave them to me, he left for extrended training and we didn't put two and two together until after the baby was born! I went for 3 months thinking I had the "pregnancy rash" but I actually had scabies! Please go ahead and puke if you feel it necessary. (I'm about to). So, now that we are all grossed out, just make sure with your doctor before thinking it's just a "rash".

 

PS-- I almost killed him when I found out what it was.

Wow, I actually just had to look up scabies because I wasn't sure what it was, and you're right, it's pretty disgusting. However, my husband nor anyone I know has had any rashes or itching, so hopefully I can rule that out since it's only spread by having very close contact with one who is already contaminated. Thanks for your imput, though. I will definitly not rule out other non-pregnancy related causes.
