And actually keep that name? We have so many choices (with favs) but we keep changing our minds, I'm sure it will come down to the last minute! I'm just curious to hear how soon you all decided (and did you ever look back?)
I've known my girls name for about 6 years now. It has never changed and DH knew getting into this marriage that the name was non-negotiable. DH & I decided on a boys name before we got pregnant. We are firm on both names and are not telling anyone b/c honestly I don't care about other peoples opinions in this matter. Since our BFP we haven't revisited any other names.
It was very easy for us w/ DS. It was our boy name since before I was PG. I had aways loved Luke and DH, being Swedish had always loved the Swedish form, Lukas. So that was that. We knew we were having a boy too, so we never really got too serious about girl names. The front runners at one point were Elsa or Sofia.
The next one I think will be MUCH harder though b/c there is no special name that is a favorite for either of us anymore.
We picked out our name as soon as we found out it was a girl (at 19 weeks), but we have been sitting on it and feeling it out since then. Just this weekend we decided that we're set enough on it to tell the family, so we did (at 25 weeks).
As soon as we knew the gender, we knew we wanted a Max (so wk 18?) but Luke was either Luke or Andrew until the day he was born - it was decided while he was in special care by my dh. Dh never wanted Andrew
Well I'm not even pregnant, but we've pretty much decided on names. I suppose they could change down the road, but I'm pretty set on the ones we've picked.
We picked out a boy name the 1st summer we were together (2005) and a girl name the following spring. We've held onto them until we got pregnant, and now we can't wait to actually use them!
When I was pregnant with my first DS, we decided on our boy and girl names and told everyone around 17 weeks (before we even knew the sex). We stuck with our boy name once we found out we were having a boy.
When I got pregnant the second time, we were still pretty set on the same girl name we already had picked out, but we have been having a VERY difficult time with a name since we found out we're having another boy. We cannot agree on ANY boy names this time ... it is driving me crazy! We may very well be deciding in the hospital with this one (although I'm determined not to let that happen)!
I'm 20 weeks and I just pretty much decided. I know I am having a girl, (had CVS at 12 weeks) so we have been focusing on girls names. I think we are both really happy with our choice, Maxine Lily, so I doubt I will change my mind before or after she is born.
I was previously set on Madeleine for years but it has gotten to popular for me.

We finally settled on ours about 3 weeks ago. So, I was somewhere around 33 weeks, I think. I've second guessed it briefly, but in the end it suits us and fits all our criteria, so it's staying.
My hardest challenge has been dodging the "Do you have a name picked?" inquiries. My mother got PO'd because I told her we weren't sharing. With others I've fibbed and told we just haven't decided. But then they want to "help" and they give me a list of names they like - most of which I've nixed a hundred times over for some reason. Usually they are really trendy, popular names that I have gotten sick of hearing.
We decided very quick. We had Marley's name picked out before we were even pregnant - but we could never decide on her middle name and that didn't get decided on until she was born (and we both regret what we ended up with!). We had the boys name picked out since we found out we were pregnant with baby #1 - but we never had a boy, so it never got used. The 2nd was a little tougher - we tossed around girl names but didn't give it much thought until it was confirmed to be a girl. Once we knew it was a girl, we had her name decided on within a week. We just didn't like dragging out the name game conversations.

My girl name has not changed in 10 years.
My boy names continue to revolve, which is why we'll likely decide a on a final name a few weeks before the baby is born.
2 hours after she was born. We had 1 boy name picked out and a whole list of girl names. Of course, she ended up being a girl.

We've been totally happy with her name and can't imagine having named her anything else!
