I haven't formally introduced myself here on second tri, but I commented and posted occasionally over on first tri and have been happily lurking here for about two weeks. And FWIW, I'm loving the second tri board. So anyway, hi!
My question is about breakouts. My skin has reverted back to the 7th grade in a major way, and the worst part is that its not just my face this time. Its my back and shoulders and a little bit on my chest. Needless to say, its not very sexy. (sorry, maybe TMI) And with summer rapidly approaching and my pregnant body's thermometer rising with each day, I'm going to be one upset cookie if I end up having to cover up my arms and upper back all summer due to stupid pregnancy acne. So what are you ladies using? I currently use Philosophy's Purity Cleanser and Hope in a Jar moisturizer, which worked WONDERS before I got pregnant. I've used different body washes for acne but nothing has worked so far. Plus I know that you have to be careful with acne meds, etc, while pregnant.
I guess I was just hoping that there was some great secret I've been oblivious to all this time and that you all had some insight. Either way, I'd like to talk to whoever decided on this side effect. I'd like to formally file a complaint. TIA!
Re: Tell me your skincare secrets!
My face exploded in first tri and someone recommended the Belli Skincare line. All of their products are safe to use while pregnant and/or breastfeeding. I got the Acne wash and it really cleared up my face without drying it out too much. Here's a link to the product on their website:

Good luck!
I'm in the same boat as you! Cetaphil has helped my face from what I've noticed... but I swear some days its really a lot worse than others. For the rest of my body, I have no idea. Maybe I should try Cetaphil on that too?! Oh, I should say I use a moisturizer every other day, Aveeno for sensitive skin with SPF 15 I think...
Yes, I'd like to file a complaint too! I just recently talked with one of my friends who is about as far along as I am, and her skin is great. Jealousy. GL!
I've said this before in posts like these, that I use Eminence products

Way expensive, but do incredible things for my skin. Without jinxing the acne gods, I have been able to avoid *certain things* by washing with those items. Even though I've recommended their products before I just thought it could be other things. For your particular situation, have you been only able to hold down fast foods, and the like? Do you drink enough water? Just thought that those may have been able to contribute.
I hope it gets better for you! I know I feel my body temp rising also! There's noooo way I'd spend summer covered up, we'd be miserable!
My skin went all middle school on me too - and I've never had break-out problems before!! I was very oily and switched to this product and I love it - it's all natural, organic, and super safe. Plus, it smells great. They are a bit spendy but worth it. GL!

Thanks to everyone who has replied so far. Just having some options already gives me some hope! I actually don't mind spending a little more money on skincare stuff. Its the one thing I let myself splurge on (I figure I only get this one skin, so I better take care of it!). I'll have to give some of these a try.
And just knowing I'm not alone helps as well. It certainly doesn't help to be around all of my non-pregnant friends and family and their perfect complexions. Thanks again!
