repost: I made a tutu! (PIP)

I posted really late last night when I finished it but I am just so in love with it I wanted to share with the day girls to.

It is all no sew, it took about an hour maybe a bit longer, it was really easy & cheap, it looks even better in person then in the pic. Its a gift, I have at least 2 or 3 more to make for birthday gifts in the upcoming months & I may be making myself an infant size one just in case this is a Lexi in me! I love girly stuff! This one is pink, purple & a aqua blue. I want to do a chocolate brown & aqua next!

  • It was really easy! I followed a video tutorial on you tube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B7aSPMEn7S0

I followed the demensions & directions. I used the ribbon. However I have done a lot of research, you could also use a piece of elestic & sew it to form a band if you prefer that, tie on the tulle and then just tie a bow on when you are done, or leave it without a bow. This one looks perfect for a 2-4 y/o (20 inch waist) . You can just measure the waist of the specific little girl& make it a tad bigger for growing room if you wanted. I also read that for an infant you could us an adult size skinny elastic headband, which I think would work well. Mine is about 12-14" long, for an infant you would want much shorter, 6-7" I would think. I found a site that said 14" waist for a newborn. You can vary the lengths, it doesn' have to be perfect, you can also add in ribbon dangling thru out. I looked at a lot of the etsy & ebay sites selling these for ideas and then just did my own.

I googled it and found a ton of different ideas!  I like the idea of using the bow though.  Way better than the elastic!  Thanks for the info I will have to watch that tonight and start on my tutu this weekend :)  yeahhh another project to work on :)
